Sep 23, 2017 Updating to F8 maps (Europe 2018) on Ford vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 became a lot easier than the former procedure to upgrade to F7, so this tutorial will get a lot shorter than the popular “old” one from last year.This will however only work with pre-MY18.5 vehicles. If you have a MY19 car with SYNC3 this update is not compatible with the new partitioning of the newest APIM hardware. Click on the “Download SYNC ® Software Update” link. Enter your VIN. If your car is eligible for an update, enter your e-mail address. If eligible for update, you will receive an email with a link to your update download. Download the file to your desktop. Unzip the downloaded file and upload to a USB drive. I have a 2017 focus titanium x sync 3.0 build 18025, Ford website using vin says sync is up to date but 25GB map update (I’m assuming is the F8) also my screen is the 8” display a friend has a 19 plate fiesta with the sync 3.3 build 18261 (I think) is it possible to update my sync to 3.3 or is 3.0 the max it can have?
